RESOURCES AND SECTIONS
1. General Collection – This
contains books for circulation that can be borrowed for two
weeks. It is divided into the following sub-collections:

a. Fiction – arranged in
alphabetical order according to the author’s last name.
b. Non-Fiction – classified according to
the Library of Congress and Dewey Decimal Classification
Systems.
c. Filipiniana – follows the arrangement
of the non-fiction collection.
d. Biography – alphabetically arranged
according to the subject’s last name. |
2. Reference Collection – Reference
books such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, bibliographies,
including a separate sub-collection of Filipiniana references
and special collection are placed here. Books in this section
are for room use only.
3. Periodical Collection – This
is where the loose and bound issues of local/foreign magazines
and newspapers are housed. The Library also subscribes to periodical
indexes that can help the users locate articles of specific
topics. These materials are for room use only.

4. Vertical File Collection –
This is a collection of newspaper clippings, brochures, handouts,
and other ephemeral materials that are kept inside long brown
envelopes and arranged alphabetically by subject headings. These
materials are for room use only.
5. Young Reader’s Collection
– a new section intended to encourage the students to read more.
It houses award-winning fiction books and other types of literature
recommended for young readers. These books may be borrowed for
two weeks except for the ones in the Reserve Section that can
be borrowed for one week.
6. Electronic Media Collection
– is composed of encyclopedia and other references on various
topics that are stored in compact discs. They can be borrowed
from the circulation counter. Viewing and printing can be done
on any assigned computer/printer. These materials are for room

7. Reserve Book Collection –
These are the books recommended by the subject teachers to supplement
the prescribed textbooks. These materials can be checked out
at 4p.m. and returned on or before 8a.m. the next day.
